• Sony PlayStation Vita Launches in Japan

Last Saturday, the new Sony PlayStation Vita portable game machine hit stores in Japan. Just like the Apple iPhone, thousands of game enthusiasts lined up early in the morning to buy it. As a result, Sony sells 321,000 PlayStation Vita units in 2 days in Japan.

The Sony PS Vita is a touch-interface and motion-sensitive handheld seen as a successor to the PlayStation Portable (PSP). The device can go online by connecting over mobile networks and Wi-Fi hotspots, and use GPS location-tracking technology.

The Vita has front and back cameras, a touch screen in front, a touch pad on the back and two knob-like joysticks. It will enable gamers to play against each other using PlayStation 3 consoles over the PlayStation Network (PSN).

In addition, the Sony PS Vita will be launched in the United States and Europe on February 22, 2012.
