Firstly, apologise for not taking the photos of the new Hyundai Tucson with my D-SLR. So, bear with me with the crappy quality from an iPhone.

The 2010 Hyundai Tucson 2.0 is powered by a 2.0 DOHC Dual CVVT with an output of 166ps max @ 6200rpm and 197 Nm @ 4600rpm. The engine is based on the new highly efficient and powerful Theta II engine with dual variable valve timing and variable induction system.

The price is surprisingly affordable for Malaysian market as the price begin from RM126,888.00 (OTR price with Insurance). With RM10k extra which cost you RM136,888.00, you get the higher spec 2.0 model that include Keyless Entry (Push Start Button), Leather Seats, iPod AUX in, Steering Wheel Audio Control, Panorama Sunroof, and ESP with HAC & DBC.

Besides the 2.0 model, Hyundai does offer the 2.4 model for its Tucson line-up which cost you RM152,888.00. The 2.4 engine only output 177ps @ 6000rpm and 227Nm of torque. What you will gain and feel from the 2.4 is just the slightly higher torque. Moreover, the 2.4 come with auto-climate control with Cluster Ionizer like the Toyota Camry.

There isn’t any Diesel variant for Tucson as usual. According to the specification, the 2.0 takes 10.6secs for 0-100kph with top speed of 180km/h and the 2.4 take 10.0secs with top speed of 192km/h. Hence, I think isn’t much different for the 2.0 High Spec and the 2.4 model. It is more worthwhile to get the 2.0 High Spec model in this case unless you prefer to have a little more torque from the engine.

For rear discs brake lovers, this car comes with one and fitted with 225/60 R17 alloy wheels. A less awesome part is this SUV doesn’t offer any Xenon HID lamp for all the variants.

The Tucson’s comes with 6-speed automatic transmission, which is the first SUV in Malaysia that having six gears auto gearbox. Furthermore, all Hyundai in Malaysia offer 300,000km or 5 years warranty that keeps the owner peace of mind thru out the ownership period.

If you were seeking for a car that is more affordable and more features, why not consider the Hyundai Tucson. In terms of specification fact, it does outperform the Honda CR-V 2.0.

For colours wise, Hyundai Tuscon is available in Vanilla White, Hyper Metallic, Phantom Black, Sleek Silver, Gray Titanium and Blue Ice.
